Loading and unloading liquids with oxygen
A liquid is to be enriched with oxygen of a certain type as quickly as possible. The outgassing of the "normal" oxygen in the carrier liquid is necessary beforehand. There are no processes or devices which fulfill this task. A gassing filter is known, but it can solve the task only in a time of about 6h. It is not reusable afterwards.
Sterilisation tests with pressure and oxygen content monitoring
The problem was analyzed and an innovative solution was found. The solution was verified by building different breadboards. With first prototypes already quallitative statements about oxygen content and speed of the enrichment could be made. The final test setup has already quantitatively enabled the provision of a zero series of ampoules for serial testing.
First experimental setup for degassing and gassing the carrier liquid
The carrier fluid could be degassed reproducibly and then refilled with oxygen 17 to 100% saturation. The procedure is extremely fast and can be performed within 15 min (previously 6h). The apparatus is sterilizable and reusable.
The final device was then used to prepare the oxygen-loaded emulsions. The sterilizability for the final production has been investigated in series tests directly at CEMEC.
Verification of the structure of the carrier liquid using an electron scanning microscope
A novel process for the enrichment of liquids with oxygen was developed and the necessary equipment and processes were built, validated and qualified.
